On Sunday at 15:00 local time, for the first time after the summer break, the lights will go out again for the start of a Formula 1 race. As always, tyre supplier Pirelli releases their expectations regarding the fastest strategies before the race.

Pirelli expects two-stopper

According to the Formula 1 tyre supplier, a two-stopper is the fastest strategy for the race at Zandvoort. This involves starting on the soft tyres, then changing to the mediums and eventually going back to the softs. A one-stopper starting on medium tyres and finishing on hard tyres is also a fine option, according to Pirelli. For these strategies, of course, it must remain dry.
In 2021 and 2022, many drivers also opted for the two-stopper at Zandvoort. For a large proportion of drivers, this even ended up becoming a three-stopper in 2022 due to a late safety car. In terms of tyres still available to the drivers for the race, there are a few differences. All drivers still have a new set of both medium and hard tyres. Qualifying took place in rainy conditions, so all drivers also have new softs remaining.
