Red Bull Racing's Pierre Gasly is under investigation for a violation again, as the Frenchman allegedly exceeded the maximum fuel mass flow during his hot lap in Q1 at the Baku City Circuit, which could lead to disqualification from the session.
Gasly will already start from the pitlane after failing to go to the weighbridge when asked to do so after FP2, meaning a potential penalty wouldn't set him back anymore. The 23-year-old already received an additional five-place penalty for swapping gearboxes, but again, it won't impact his starting position.
The latest accusation from the FIA is that the young Red Bull driver allegedly exceeded the maximum allowed fuel mass flow during Q1, which is 100 kg/hour. FIA delegate Jo Bauer reported this to RaceFans.
Gasly was the quickest driver during Q1, which could potentially be tied to the fuel mass flow. If this is found to be true, Gasly will be disqualified from qualifying.
Updates to follow.
