Scary moment in the pit lane: Piastri runs long and hits his jackman

Oscar Piastri came in for his final pitstop and tried to do a quick stop to stay ahead of both Red Bull cars and his teammate Lando Norris. But the Australian made a mistake when moving into his pitstop. The McLaren driver didn't brake early enough and ran very long.

Fortunately, the jackman stood strong and actually almost 'caught' Piastri. He hooked his jack up and lifted it, allowing the rest of the team to change the tyres. It took them two seconds longer to make the stop, but he still made it out ahead of Max Verstappen and the rest of his rivals.

The jackman was later smiling as he took off his helmet. He seemed to be okay despite taking the heavy hit. On lap 34, Piastri was running in P4 and not far behind the leaders after setting purple lap times in his previous stint.
