Sergio Perez will once again have the arduous task of having Max Verstappen as a teammate next season. Although the Mexican has much respect for Verstappen, he emphasizes to do everything to win the world title.
Expectations were high at the beginning of 2021 when Perez entered Red Bull Racing. However, for much of the season he still failed to compete at the front of every race. After months of criticism, he only managed to play a significant role at the end of the year.

Perez goes for the world title at Red Bull

In 2022 he hopes to maintain that form and fight for the front places with the Austrian racing team. While many expect Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen to fight for the world title again, Perez has set himself the goal of winning the world championship at least once in his career.
"I think there is no secret that I have got the fastest teammate in the whole grid," Perez admitted candidly to ESPN. "But I wouldn't be here if I didn't believe in myself and if I didn't work through it. I am only here because I am working to be a world champion and I am giving everything I possibly can."
