A chaotic season for Force India has yielded some surprising results with a podium finish for Sergio Perez in Baku and a fifth and sixth place finish in the Belgian Grand Prix. Mexican Perez, who has been at Force India since 2014 has admitted that “2018 was the most complicated season of my career".
Perez finished on the podium in Azerbaijan and fifth in the Belgian Grand Prix despite Force India facing financial uncertainty due to the team going into administration until a consortium led by Lawrence Stroll bought the team from Vijay Mallya.
To add to that, the constructors had their points wiped due to the circumatances.
Perez has spoken about the issues in and out of the cockpit saying: “We had to face many particular situations, inside and outside the cockpit. The last race of the year is an opportunity to look at all the work we have done over the last twelve months. I am proud of what has been done and grateful to all those who work in the factory, in the pits and in the hospitality sector. This is a team that never fails to fight. Now let's look at a future that will be very promising”.
