Pérez: 'We expect Mercedes to be very fast'

Sergio Pérez is in danger of falling behind in the battle for third place in the world championship. During the Italian Grand Prix he will therefore want to score a lot of points for his team.

In Zandvoort, things went wrong for Pérez during qualifying. The driver did not cross the finish line in time to set another fast lap at the end of Q1. "Zandvoort? It was a qualifying where everything went wrong. We talked a lot about it with the team. In Q3 tomorrow it will be a fight for the slipstream", the Mexican told the FIA press conference, as quoted by FormulaPassion.it on Twitter.

Red Bull had a strong car last weekend and they were too fast for Mercedes. Pérez can only hope that he has a better qualifying next weekend. In Monza things have gone wrong before with drivers not crossing the finish line in time, as they all try to get a slipstream from the driver in front of them.

Pérez knows that the fight will be exciting in Monza. "In Zandvoort we had a fast car. At Monza we expect Mercedes to be very fast and qualifying will be a tough fight", said the Red Bull driver.
