Sergio Pérez had a tough race in Austria The Mexican started third in the Austrian Grand Prix, but an incident with Lando Norris ruined his chances. Then, later in the race, he got given a penalty himself for a similar incident.
The Red Bull driver tried to overtake Norris on the outside early in the race, but ended up on the gravel. As a result, he lost a number of positions and found himself in the middle of the field. It was a struggle for him to move up the order. He was able to until he made a bad judgement call.
Pérez, in fact, drove into Charles Leclerc, which the Ferrari driver was not pleased with. "My apologies to Charles, because I don't want to race like that," Pérez stated to, among others Motorsport.com. "I'm not that type of driver. I was in dirty air, my tyres were very hot, my brakes were very hot and I just tried to brake as late as possible."

Time penalty for Pérez

The teammate of Max Verstappen received a time penalty for the incident from the race committee. "I haven't seen both incidents back yet, but I'm really sorry if I affected his race with that. Charles is a driver who always races hard, but on the limit. So I'm not happy with myself."
