The Belgian Grand Prix was exciting from start to finish, with many different strategic choices. In the end, George Russell ran away with victory. McLaren driver Oscar Piastri approached very quickly towards the end, but fell just short.
After the race, the Australian expressed that he did expect to overtake the Mercedes towards the end of the Grand Prix. This unfortunately fell just short for him. "I thought I could do it, but clean air was such a big difference today,'' Piastri told reporters after the race.

Piastri goes home happy from Spa-Francorchamps

''I got a little bit of clean air in the middle stint, where I picked up a lot of pace and managed to get a nice tyre delta for the last stop. But clearly I didn't need a tyre delta. You just had to keep going, as George showed.''
In the end, Piastri is very happy with the result his team achieved. ''I'm happy with the result. I don't think we could have done too much more,'' said Piastri.
