Charles Leclerc doesn't have to cash in on his pole position. The Ferrari driver was called to the stewards' attention after he allegedly drove "unnecessarily slow" during an in-lap in Q1.
The stewards have decided not to give Charles Leclerc a grid penalty for his offence during qualifying. The Monegasque can keep his pole position and will start ahead of Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez.
The stewards came to the conclusion that the Monegasque was doing a cool down lap instead of a prepared one. During the lap there was also a lot of traffic and 'Leclerc did his best not to get in the way of other drivers'. As a result, his lap time was significantly delayed. The stewards therefore decided not to give a penalty to the Monegasque.
The same ruling applies to Guanyu Zhou. Yuki Tsunoda did receive a reprimand from the stewards for not encountering other traffic during his lap.
