Fernando Alonso did not leave Alpine in a nice way. The Spaniard often had problems with his car in his last season for the French racing stable, and it was also often a struggle with teammate Esteban Ocon, with Ocon telling DAZN that mistakes were made on both sides.
Since Alonso joined Aston Martin, things have been going a lot better than when he was at Alpine. The Spaniard only managed to fail to finish on the podium twice in the eight races driven. At Alpine, there is also progress. Ocon grabbed his first podium in Monaco since his victory in Hungary in 2021, and the car seems to be getting closer and closer to Mercedes, Aston Martin and Ferrari.

'Have both made mistakes'

As teammates, Ocon and Alonso had a volatile relationship. Ocon says: "I think there were times when we were too close, but that was on both sides. At that time, I think we made some mistakes."

'Was an impressive teammate'

Nevertheless, the Frenchman still praises the Spaniard: "It was awesome to have him as a team-mate. What happened on the track happened, but that doesn't change that we got results for the team."
