Norris self-critical: 'I should have been on pole today and yesterday'

Lando Norris will start the sprint race from second place. The Briton saw his time taken away by track limits during qualifying for Sunday's race on Friday, and now he is just grabbing pole position for the sprint race. Speaking to F1TV, Norris says he is disappointed with himself.

"I’m happy for the team, happy for Oscar [Piastri], but I did another bad job today," the Briton began. "I don’t know what I’m going to say. I’m just not happy. I’m not doing a very good job. Yeah, should have been pole yesterday, should have been pole today, but I’m not so."

Norris was also asked about what he thinks it is down to. The McLaren driver replied, "I don’t know, just different things, different reasons yesterday for reasons today, but just mistakes, not putting the lap together when I need to easily, quick enough for pole. I just don’t put it together at all. But Oscar did a good job, and Max did a good job. It's frustrating. The car is quick enough. The team is doing an excellent job, but I’m just not delivering on what I need to do, so, of course, I’m not happy with myself."
