Lando Norris has expressed his delight with his P5 finish but has said that the race on Sunday will be tougher despite the strong pace McLaren have shown so far this weekend.
Norris' fifth is his highest ever F1 grid position and he is starting just in front of his teammate Carlos Sainz, who qualified sixth.
The team are leading the midfield race after seven rounds and are in a brilliant position to extend their lead over Renault at Circuit Paul Ricard.
Norris told Sky Sports F1: "As a team we have done very well. I am sure they are going to be tough to beat but we are ahead of who we need to be.
"I have heard rumours from Renault saying we have a secret upgrade. We weren't expecting anything at all to be honest, but it has turned out better than we expected. But tomorrow will be tougher.

"We will take the result for today and we will keep working hard."
