Lando Norris leads the world championship by 24-points going into the penultimate race of the season, with team-mate Oscar Piastri, and rival Max Verstappen, level on points. Norris has assessed his two championship rivals ahead of the final two races.
Both are the same. I think they're both just as good as one another. I know what Max is capable of and I think Oscar is capable of exactly the same as what Max can do.
- Lando Norris
Norris and Piastri were both disqualified from the Las Vegas Grand Prix last weekend after a technical regulations infringement made by McLaren. This has put Verstappen back within realistic championship contention, with just two races to go.
However, whilst Verstappen and Red Bull seem to have found their form over the last couple of months, with the Dutchman taking victory in Las Vegas recently, Norris' other title rival, Piastri, hasn't taken a race victory since the Dutch GP back in late August.
When asked if Norris will treat either driver differently in the championship fight, the Brit responded: "Both are the same. I think they're both just as good as one another. I know what Max is capable of and I think Oscar is capable of exactly the same as what Max can do. Both have pros and cons. I think they're both competitive, they're both very strong, they're both incredible drivers and I'm excited to give them a good fight on track."

Verstappen has closed to Norris' team-mate, Piastri, by over 100 points since F1 returned from the summer break, and now sits just an additional 24 behind Norris himself.
When asked about how much of a threat Verstappen is, Norris said: "We've treated him as a threat the whole year, even when he was a few more points behind. Every single race, we treat him as a threat because we know what he's capable of, we know what Red Bull is capable of, so nothing changes now."
Norris himself has also overturned a sizable points deficit to Piastri, to now lead the championship. Speaking about McLaren's performance throughout 2025, Norris revealed: "We've been doing a good job. We know what areas we need to do better, we know what things we need to improve on."
