After topping the first practice session, Lando Norris finished in P4 in FP2, a couple of tenths behind his teammate Oscar Piastri. Here is how the Briton reacted to his first day at this year's Spanish GP. Norris matched Max Verstappen's lap time on the soft tyres on Friday afternoon, but he did so later during the session, so he finished in fourth place.
Norris wants 'tiny changes'
Talking to F1 TV, the Monaco GP's winner reviewed his day, explaining his first session went better. "A decent Friday. Felt better in FP1 than in FP2. But we are trying things. We'll try to improve what's wrong."
In terms of the car's set up, the Briton also explained they could try things out more in the second session, but they those things did not necessarily work out on this occasion.
"It's tiny things. It's something we always do very good to have a good baseline, and find it difficult to improve from that point onwards, which is a good thing, not a bad thing. This allows us to try different directions, different things, and try and get a bit of a feel," he concluded.
Entering the
Spanish Grand Prix, the
McLaren driver trails his teammate Piastri by 3 points in the drivers' standings.
