“You only remember the winner. It's a big day”

F1 after the race, Norris’s father emphasized that only the winner truly matters, and that everything the others do rarely sticks in the collective memory.
“Very big (difference) in a way, being between first and second or third or fifth. And no one remembers... I was trying to think, I don't remember who came second. Well, maybe they did. And maybe in the past 10 championships, people have been ill or DNF'd or pensioned, but you don't really remember it. You only remember the winner. So it's a big day.”

Last year, despite a car advantage in the second half of the season, Norris couldn’t fully capitalize on his potential, losing decisively in his first showdown with Verstappen, who went on to secure his fourth world championship well in advance.
This year, however, things were different. Despite a strong comeback from the Dutchman, Norris managed to keep his composure until the checkered flag, ultimately clinching the title.
