No malicious action by FIA: 'Formula 1 is not corrupt'

Zak Brown believes that conspiracies should be put aside after the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The CEO of McLaren might have made a different decision than the race committee, but there is no foul play, according to him.

Since the Abu Dhabi GP, the F1 fan base seems more divided than ever. You are either for Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes or you are for Red Bull Racing and Max Verstappen. There seems to be no grey middle ground anymore and everyone has to have an opinion. According to Brown, however, all those opinions will soon disappear.

Indeed, in conversation with Racer, he addresses the situation and expects the controversy to be gone once the season has started. ''The wounds will heal again then,'' says the American. According to Brown, the FIA does need to use the report to come up with a clear explanation of how such situations should be handled in the future.

''I don't think this was a malicious decision, so for those who now have the image that the sport is corrupt, I disagree.'' Brown does state that he himself might have made a different decision than the race committee, but he is happy to wait for the FIA's investigation.
