Daniil Kvayt won't be a part of the driver lineup at Ferrari next season. The Russian became the simulator driver for the Scuderia after being unceremoniously dropped by Red Bull, replacing him at Toro Rosso, during the 2017 season.
Kvyat was replaced by Pierre Gasly at the junior Red Bull outfit before being released at the Mexican Grand Prix altogether from the junior driver stable.
A spokesman for the team told Russia's Championat that Kvyat would not be racing for the team next season, instead, he would be continuing in his current simulator driver role.
"At the moment he is completely concentrated on his work in the simulator."
Kvyat is set to have a test day at Fiorano in F1 machinery during a Pirelli tyre test next week.
