Nico Hulkenberg has criticized Formula 1 and has said that the cars are too easy to drive and that the drivers do not play enough of a role in the outcome of races. The German Renault driver hopes that the rule changes in 2021 will make the sport much more exciting, giving the drivers the ability to make a difference with their ability from the cockpit.
“The cars now are too easy to drive,” said Hulkenberg to Grandpx.news. “You hardly make mistakes anymore and you can’t make the difference with courage or skills because everyone is already perfect.
“Where can you make a difference if braking distances are so short? How can you accelerate out of a corner better if everyone can get on the power so quickly?
“Also, the cars are as lazy as tanks when changing direction,” Hulkenberg said. “We carry too much weight.”
A few drivers have criticized the Formula 1 cars and have said that they are too easy to drive so perhaps they will be listened to when the 2021 rules are created.
