Arvid Lindblad is often labeled as ‘the next big talent of Red Bull Racing’. The Brit is for that reason frequently compared to Max Verstappen, who also made a name for himself in the sport at a young age. However, Lindblad is currently still firmly in the battle for the Formula 2 title. Talking to GPblog among others, the talent discussed his chances of winning the championship.
Asked whether he is in contention for the title, Lindblad replied: “I haven't really thought too much about the championship. But yes, I mean, it's still early. We're not even halfway yet. But yeah, I've been in the top three, we've been competitive over the last couple rounds, which is obviously what you need to be in the championship.

Will Lindblad become the youngest Formula 2 champion ever?

Lindblad continued: “I think there's still a lot to improve on my side, I think also some bits with the team as well we can improve. So it's still early days. But I think if we keep doing what we're doing, keep going with this momentum and keep making steps forward, then I think we have all the tools to be in the fight, yes."
Currently, Lindblad is third in the Formula 2 championship, with 79 points, and only Alexander Dunne and Richard Verschoor are ahead of the Red Bull junior in the standings.
Dunne currently leads the championship with a total of 87 points, and Verschoor is right behind with 84 points. The difference within the top three, including Lindblad's total, is only eight points. Should the Brit become champion this season, he will be the youngest champion in the history of Formula 2.
Lindblad also answered questions from GPblog. Here, the Red Bull junior shared his thoughts on being compared to Verstappen. He also discussed the development of the number of rookies in Formula 1 and whether this can help him secure a F1 seat for next season.
