Mercedes announced that they have launched their own Esports team ahead of this year's official F1 Esports series. The Silver Arrows have four gamers as part of their line-up with reigning F1 E-sports champion Brendon Leigh just one-quarter of a strong team.
Alongside Leigh is Harry Jacks, notable for his four online league racing championships in the AOR league, Patryk Krutyi and Dani Bereznay, who was selected by the team at the F1 Esports Pro Draft.
The series will run from October to November this year and will use the new F1 2018 game which releases later this month.
The highly talented team of four will use the new gaming centre based in the team's factory in Brackley which is designed to help them hone their skills.
Liberty Media has been keen to jump-start F1's venture into the Esports scene, with the aim of connecting with a younger fanbase. The series' finale last year was watched live around the world and even drew the attention of one Fernando Alonso, who himself has started his own Esports team in the time since.
