McLaren come into the Spanish Grand Prix in fourth place in the constructors’ championship after a positive start to the 2018 season.
The team is building up for Fernando Alonso’s home race in Barcelona this week, with the two-time world champion sitting in sixth place in the drivers’ standings.
The team will be definitely hoping for a better result at the Circuit de Catalunya than last year, when Alonso finished two laps off the pace and Stoffel Vandoorne retired midway through the race.
Eric Boullier spoke about potential upgrades for the weekend: “Like most teams, we’re planning to bring some new parts to the car to test on Friday and decide which of these to take forward into the rest of the weekend and the coming races.
“We’re taking each GP weekend step by step and hope we can begin to address the challenges we know we face with our package.
