Verstappen pinpoints biggest danger this season: 'Focus on ourselves'

Max Verstappen has attended his first FIA press conference as a two-time F1 champion. The Dutchman is the favourite for 2023 and will want to win the Bahrain GP straight away, to start even stronger than last year.

Verstappen looks very relaxed at the press conference. Speaking to GPBlog.com and others, the Dutchman stated, "Yes, but it's not because of the car. In my eyes, it's always good to be relaxed." Verstappen and Red Bull Racing are favourites after the test. But the champion responds coolly: "We had three really good days. The progress over the winter was very good. But we have to show it this weekend but not only that, from there on continue to develop."

So where and at which circuit will the car be better this year: "Everywhere. That's the aim, you always try to improve. Every team lost performance with the floor but you always try to gain that back in a way. The biggest danger in 2023 according to Verstappen: "The teams close to us! But from ourselves, we have to stay on top of things. We are not robots, everyone makes mistakes but you try to minimise it," he added.
