Maurizio Arrivabene: "The goal is to return to '02 and '04 domination"

Ferrari team principal Maurizio Arrivabene has admitted that there have been problems with the team in the past races, but the Italian also refuses to give up on the title race with Mercedes.
Mercedes currently have a commanding lead in both championships, despite Ferrari having the better package according to many. Lewis Hamilton leads Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel by a whopping 50 points, meaning there's a two-retirement buffer for Hamilton before the German catches up with him. Things are looking down for Ferrari, but Arrivabene will not give up until the fat lady sings.
"There are still five races to go, so I still believe," he told Sky Italia.
"We of course can't deny that there have been problems in the past races.
"If we look at what we've achieved so far, it's good to see that we haven't been this strong in ages.

"In a number of races we were clearly the best, but we didn't get the points."
That's mainly down to this guy called Lewis Hamilton. The Brit has won a few races out of absolutely nowhere, like the one in Ferrari's backyard in Monza. His simply excellent driving ability combined with his relentless consistency are mainly why Ferrari trail Mercedes in all departments.
"The ideal car still has to come for us, and the goal is to dominate like in 2002 and 2004.
"But apart from that, we're not giving up, even if we're miles behind."
That's the spirit, Maurizio! Let's see if they can decrease Vettel's deficit this weekend, for a start. If Hamilton wins again, there is absolutely zero chance of Vettel winning his fifth title.
