Felipe Massa relentlessly continues his legal battle against the FIA, FOM, and Bernie Ecclestone in a bid to seek justice for the 2008 title he lost. “We did what we’re supposed to do with the lawyers in the court, and now we wait for the decision”
- Felipe MassaThe Brazilian driver, who returned to the Interlagos paddock last week to attend his home Grand Prix, did not shy away from answering journalists’ questions about a case that is gaining momentum.
The former Ferrari driver is seeking compensation of $82 million (around £67 million), convinced that the infamous “Crashgate” scandal at that year’s Singapore Grand Prix robbed him of the championship title.
“Looking forward for the justice,” he told Sky Sports. “I don’t deserve what’s happened to me, to anybody, anybody that is looking for the sport. We did what we’re supposed to do with the lawyers in the court, and now we wait for the decision.”

Key Alonso detail emerges after Massa’s latest crashgate revelation
The ex-Ferrari driver disclosed that back in 2009—just before the notorious Hungarian Grand Prix accident and a year ahead of the Spaniard’s arrival at Ferrari—he had already told reporters that Alonso was aware of his Renault teammate’s deliberate crash in Singapore.
During preliminary hearings, the Brazilian submitted a witness statement in which he recalled: “In October 2009 I also told journalists that I believed Fernando Alonso knew it (the crash) was on purpose.”
