Helmut Marko has expressed his sympathy towards Max Verstappen's qualifying result. As the Dutchman pulled into the 2nd place slot, he rammed the sign and got out with a grumpy face. He was beaten by his team-mate by the blink of an eye.
"You have to realise that without his problems with the engine, Max would have been two or even three tenths faster, good enough for pole," Marko told the German media.
"On the other hand, Ricciardo had the same problems but knew how to deal with it better. I do understand that Max is not happy with it and would also be crazy if he walked around with a big grin on his face."
It's the first time the two Red Bull's lock out the front row in the hybrid era. It could be an interesting first corner as Toto Wolff has warned about the straight line speed mismatch as Mercedes and Ferrari line-up behind.
