Could this be the rise of Red Bull and the downfall of McLaren?

The Spanish Grand Prix takes place in just four days. At Red Bull Racing, there is a high level of interest in the new flexiwing regulations. Here's what Helmut Marko is wanting from the Techincal Directive.

In a conversation with Austrian Oe24, Marko was asked if Red Bull would be as fast in Barcelona as they were in Imola. The advisor responded, “We hope so. Qualification is also always very important in Barcelona, because overtaking is very difficult on this track. However, if the tires wear down, there's still a chance to overtake on the straight at the start-finish and the other straight.”

Ever since the new rules were announced, Red Bull Racing and its personnel have been waiting for the Spanish Grand Prix to see what will happen. Marko is one of those people.

He said, “That's what they say. I'm curious to see if that will actually happen.”

McLaren is the main team being watched due to cheating allegations (which have been disproven). They are also one of the most dominant teams on the grid right now. McLaren is currently 172 points in the lead with Mercedes, Red Bull, and Ferrari all close together.

If any of the top four teams are greatly affected, it could change the outcome of the season.
