Formula 2 driver Artem Markelov has completed a tyre development test at Suzuka for Pirelli in Renault's Formula One car, as the Russian racked up 73 laps at last week's host of the Japanese Grand Prix.
Much like last weekend, Tuesday's testing featured some rainfall, meaning the new intermediates and even full-wets were brought out and tested thoroughly.
Markelov has completed two practice runs with Renault already this season, with the 24-year-old getting opportunities in the RS18 in Free Practice 1 in both Hungary and his home country Russia.
He was mentioned for some open seats in the 2019 grid at multiple teams, with the Russian's name popping up at teams like Williams and Toro Rosso in the last few months.
On Monday, Renault's reserve driver Jackie Aitken manned the same RS18 to run tests for Pirelli, as the Brit with Korean roots did a cool 104 laps at Suzuka to test the new tyres for next season.
