Marcus Ericsson to take another step away from F1!

Marcus Ericsson looks set to distance himself further from F1 and Alfa Romeo as he steps up his seriousness in IndyCar. The Swede raced for Arrow SPM in the USA in 2019, and will drive for Chip Ganassi Racing, a team higher up the IndyCar ranks.

Ericsson was called up to the Alfa Romeo team for the Belgian Grand Prix as back-up for the injured Kimi Raikkonen, forcing him to miss the IndyCar event in Portland, but it was a wasted trip as the Finn was fit enough to take the car.

And now Ericsson is set to prioritise his IndyCar commitments, telling Swedish newspaper Expressen: "I have a long relationship with Alfa Romeo and Sauber and I'm pretty sure I will have some part, but I have also said that I really want to focus 100 percent on this Indy season.
