Marc Surer: "I don't see a racer" in Cyril Abiteboul

Marc Surer has strongly criticised Renault. The French Formula 1 has slipped from the 'best of the rest' position and pressure is starting to build on boss Cyril Abiteboul.

Former Formula 1 driver Surer finds their early season form embarrassing: "It looks like they have completely disappeared," the Swiss reported in a conversation with MeinSportPodcast.

“I think they really have no idea what they are doing. In terms of chassis, it looks like they don't understand the car at all," he continued.

There is only one scapegoat according to Surer: Abiteboul. “He might as well have started selling cars or computers, I don't see a racer in him. You can do nothing but question his qualities," he finally concluded.
