Magnussen reveals frustrations after China disappointment

Kevin Magnussen has insisted Haas still has work to do to solve its race pace issues. The American team believes it has a solid car but has not yet fully understood tyre issues preventing strong race results.
While the Dane enjoyed a positive start to 2019 with a sixth-place finish in Australia, the team has lacked the same kind of speed in the following races, finishing outside of the points in China with Romain Grosjean heading up an 11th and 13th place finish.
Speaking after the Chinese Grand Prix, Magnussen admitted that he has been left frustrated with the car that in his opinion shows a lot of promise but is still lacking consistency in races.
"I don't really understand it at the moment, we all need to understand it," he said.
"It's not easy. It's frustrating that we see we've got a good car, that can qualify well, then we can't convert that into race pace.
"Qualifying's been good all year, so far, we just need to sort out the race pace... it's the most important one to be good at. There's some work to do."
