Charles Leclerc is mixing it with the big boys of
Formula 1 this season, going up against multiple-time champions,
Lewis Hamilton and
Sebastian Vettel but neither are top of his list for the best he's ever raced against.
Leclerc stepped up to
Ferrari from Sauber for the 2019 season and has been able to compete for the most part but recently admitted there are certain areas he has to improve.
During his karting days, the Monegasque went up against
Pierre Gasly, Esteban Ocon,
Alexander Albon and
Max Verstappen, all of which have already had spells in the pinnacle of motorsport. With such a strong new generation of drivers coming through who does
Charles Leclerc think is the strongest, he's raced against?
Well, that accolade goes to new teammates,
Max Verstappen and Alex Albon. Albon was recently promoted to Red Bull at the expense of Pierre Gasly who was demoted to Toro Rosso.
Leclerc revealed the best driver he has ever raced against choosing to go with someone from his competitive karting days.
"The level in karting was high, so I have to make a choice between those guys," Leclerc said.
After careful deliberation, he admitted it was
"Max Verstappen or Alexander Albon."
