Kimi Antonelli once again lost the lead off the line after a poor start to the Miami Grand Prix, with Charles Leclerc taking the lead into Turn 1. There was further drama for Max Verstappen, who spun while battling for the lead.
The championship leader once again bogged down off the line, throwing away the pole position he secured in qualifying and leaving himself needing to fight back through to win the race.
Max Verstappen challenged the Monegasque for the lead but spun at Turn 1, although he managed to get going again without being collected by the cars behind. The Dutchman rejoined in eighth place, with Antonelli reclaiming the lead after passing Leclerc a few laps later. Lewis Hamilton meanwhile sustained damage to his SF-26 on the sidepod and floor, but remained out on track in sixth place.
