Lando Norris is reportedly being managed by Mercedes following the deal between McLaren and Mercedes last week for the Germans to supply McLaren with their engines from 2021 onwards.
According to Automoto, the deal between McLaren and Mercedes was done by Horatio Investments, a company which Lando Norris' father, Adam, is the founder and CEO.
It seems as if Mercedes have used this opportunity to get some leverage into Norris' future, and by having him on their radar, it could provide them with an option for a race seat in the future.
Mercedes recently lost Esteban Ocon to Renault, and have George Russell at Williams as part of his development.
How about an all British pairing of Norris and Russell at Mercedes in a few years? Both drivers have impressed this season, with Norris sitting ninth in the championship, and although Russell is yet to score a point, he has performed admirably in a very poor car.
