Lance Stroll had to face Formula 1 veteran Sergio Perez in his first year at Racing Point. The Mexican is not only a veteran of the sport but also a veteran at the team and this made things hard for Stroll coming in.
"To come back a second season in the same environment, but with more experience is a very big advantage," he told Racefans.net. “I have to focus on this year now, but I do believe that if I could have done every weekend of last year, I would do a lot better. To get the full potential out of the car in Formula 1, you need experience."
Stroll really struggled to perform in qualifying and has turned to his teammate to try and learn how to improve.
"But of course it is always good to have a reference point and to have someone with experience like him next to me is great. He is someone I can see and understand how things can be improved. I was lucky this year."
Stroll had a good season in 2019 and he will hope to be able to improve in 2020.
