Kvyat: Honda progress will be evident in Canada

Daniil Kvyat believes that Honda's progress in developing its power unit since joining forces with Toro Rosso in 2018 will be on show at the Canadian Grand Prix.
Honda's work with Toro Rosso was enough to attract senior team Red Bull to join forces with them and fly in the face of what McLaren believed to be an inferior power unit having switched to Renault.
Despite this, results in 2019 point towards a stronger, more competitive Honda engine with Max Verstappen, who is usually critical of a lack of power, saying he is pleased with the current work going on at Honda.
The Circuit Gilles Villeneuve is more engine-dependent than it is based on aerodynamic performance and Kvyat believes that the Japanese manufacturer's hard work will shine through this weekend.
“My season has been going pretty well, and hopefully we can carry on the momentum here too,” Kvyat explained at an ExxonMobil promotional event in Montreal.

“This track is unique and it will be a good test for our engine – in terms of how fast we can go on the straight. We are looking forward to it.”
Kvyat will want to keep his current run of form going. Having beaten his teammate Alexander Albon in Monaco, the Russian now sits in 12th position in the driver standings, just four points away from cracking into the top 10.
