Jos Verstappen on Max Verstappen's contract: "He feels at home at Red Bull"

Max Verstappen's new Red Bull Racing contract was yesterday's big news. After some time to reflect on what it means, many have come to the conclusion that Red Bull will be genuine contenders for the championship next season. Jos Verstappen played a key role in the contract negotiations and thinks that the right decision has been made.

“We know what the team is doing. Not only towards the coming season, but also towards 2021 with the new cars. It is very good to be so involved in this," Jos Verstappen said to De Telegraaf. “The most important thing is that Max feels at home at Red Bull. He has every confidence in the coming years."

The Verstappen's seem to have repaid Red Bull for trusting a young Verstappen with a call up to the team at such a young age.

"Red Bull has already given Max the opportunity in Formula 1 in 2015. How nice would it be to be successful with that team," said the former Formula 1 driver. "Contact with motorcycle supplier Honda is also very pleasant. You also notice how they look at Max. That combination with Red Bull and Honda is simply very positive."

Red Bull, Honda and Verstappen are building a very strong team and they will be genuine title contenders for the next few years.
