Jean Todt must find a new way to know what time it is. The former FIA president and former Ferrari team boss, has gotten rid of some of his very expensive watches. That sale has earned him a pretty penny.
Todt is known as a huge collector of expensive watches. Girard Perregaux, Patek Philippe, Chopard, Baume et Mercier, Bulgari, Ebel, Panerai, François-Paul Journe, Audemars Piguet, Richard Mille and, of course, Tag Heuer; he has them all. Or rather, he had them all.

Auction at Christie's

The Frenchman has sold some unique and sometimes tailermade watches at an auction. No fewer than 111 watches from his precious collection were auctioned at auction house Christie's. The proceeds weere huge: over 31 million euros were raised from the sale, reports the Corriere della Sera.

Todt is known for actually wearing his expensive watches, rather than keeping them in a safe. He has plenty of time to buy new ones, by the way, since his departure as FIA boss, the Frenchman is officially retired.
