Hulkenberg names biggest challenge: 'I still need to work on that'

Nico Hulkenberg will join Haas F1 next season. His return to Formula 1 will give him the opportunity to show himself to the world again at the highest level. The driver is very much looking forward to the challenge, although in conversation with Auto, Motor und Sport that he needs time to drive at top level.

A big challenge awaits the German. The American team wants to advance to the midfield next year, where it will face a lot of competition. Hulkenberg, together with Kevin Magnussen, should provide the necessary stability.

The driver has been out of Formula 1 for several seasons, warning that he will not manage to perform at a high level right from the first race. This is because Hulkenberg will have to deal with changed cars, to which most other drivers on the track have already had a period to get used to.

"Of course I have to get used to certain things again," states Hulkenberg. "I'm coming to a new team with a new car. It always takes time to get used to it. In terms of driving, going to the limit and tyre management, there is no problem. Physically, I still need to work: especially on my neck."
