Red Bull’s Christian Horner admits that Max Verstappen has been “over-eager” in the first 4 races of the 2018 season. This comes after a series of incidents including Baku’s team-mate collision.
Horner believes that his driver will come back a better as a result of the incidents. He also suggested that the mistakes he makes remind him of Sebastian Vettel, a man who went on to win 4 World Championships with Red Bull.
“Ultimately, he will emerge the other side of this, the most important thing is to learn from mistakes,” Horner told motorsport.com.
“The start of the season has been tough for him, in many cases, it’s looked like he’s over-eager. I’m extremely confident that he will learn from and recognise his mistakes.”
Max has probably cost Red Bull at least 30 points this season. He ruined a potential 1-2 in China and ended both the Red Bull’s running in Baku. From making the mistake in China, his team-mate had a go and went on to win the race.

Christian Horner said his team-mate will aid the development of Max.
“The other thing he benefits from or will benefit from is that his team-mate is very polished and the finished article and obviously at a different stage in his development.”
