Christian Horner suddenly faced a heated altercation between Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez at the end of last season. However, the Red Bull Racing team boss decided to put both men in a room and let this work itself out, he told Speedcafe.com.
Perez allegedly pushed his car into the wall in qualifying for the Monaco Grand Prix, preventing the Dutchman from setting his fast time. Therefore, when the Mexican needed him in Brazil, Verstappen decided not to give his teammate permission to pass.
At the time, Perez was battling Charles Leclerc for second place in the world championship and was therefore quite upset about missing out on points. Horner mainly wanted to stay calm and indicated to his two drivers that they should sit down together to talk out the situation.

Horner likewise would not say anything substantive about the conversation that took place afterwards, as it was something between them. "I think there’s certain things that your drivers have the right to discuss in private between themselves," Horner indicated in the interview.

The team leader is convinced that the problems are out of the air and that this will not be between the two men next season. "You could see that by the time they’d arrived in Abu Dhabi, and I think this has been a phenomenal pairing for Red Bull."
