The collaboration between Red Bull Racing and Porsche seems increasingly likely. Team boss Christian Horner calls the talks with parent company Volkswagen Group "logical".
A partnership with Red Bull would make a Volkswagen entry into Formula 1 more affordable and practical, as they would share the financial burden and cooperate openly on technical matters.

Another advantage is that Red Bull's fuel and oil partner, ExxonMobil, is also a partner of Porsche. Porsche and Exxonmobil even have a new plant in Chile where they are working on sustainable fuels.
Red Bull Racing says it would be able to build an engine under the Red Bull Powertrains banner without any involvement from a so-called original equipment manufacturer (OEM). Still, talks with the VW Group are "natural," Horner states, according to The Race.

The 48-year-old Briton also says it would be very easy to adjust plans to make a collaboration possible. "But it would have to be with the right partner, of course," he adds. "It would therefore be logical for us to hold discussions with both OEMs. Any serious OEM."
