In the lead-up to the Silverstone race weekend, much was said about Red Bull Racing’s future. In interviews with GPBlog and others, team principal Christian Horner addressed the second seat alongside Max Verstappen.
Horner was asked whether Red Bull would consider fresh talent beyond their current pool.
Yuki Tsunoda has had a disappointing season so far, but according to Horner, there’s no need for him to worry just yet.
''Obviously, our priority will be to look at what we have within our pool of talent. You know, Yuki has got to the end of the season to demonstrate that he's the guy to remain in the car.''
''We have Isack also doing a good job, and Liam finding his form as well. So within the Red Bull pool, we have talent. But of course, you're always open to what is outside of that.''
''We want to feel the best lineup that we can for next year. We've gone outside of that pool in recent years. If we feel the necessity to do so, we wouldn't be afraid to do so again.''
Verstappen's rumors swirl
Rumors about the Dutch driver’s future have been growing increasingly persistent lately. However, GPBlog understands that Verstappen has a clause in his contract, but despite that, he prefers to remain with Red Bull.
