With the German Grand Prix at Hockenheim still up in the air, the CEO of the track has insisted it must stay on the calendar with Mick Schumacher’s inevitable arrival on the Formula 1 circuit.
Schumacher is currently driving for Prema Racing in Formula 2 but the German has tested for Ferrari this season after joining their academy earlier this year.
Meanwhile, the German Grand Prix is one of a few in the balance, with negotiations still ongoing it could be one of the races axed as Liberty look to expand Formula One’s reach. The CEO of the circuit, Georg Seiler is adamant if Schumacher is in F1, Hockenheim must be on the calendar.
"The problem that when we no longer have a contract with Formula 1, it will be very difficult to get it back in the future," Seiler told Motorsport.com.
“If Mick Schumacher drives the F1, the F1 simply has to visit Germany.

“We firmly believe in that and the possibility of a new contract is there but we don't sign that if it means a loss to us.
"We made very clear the importance of a German race.”
