Lewis Hamilton has been one of the top drivers in Formula 1 for years, but he is also known to stand up for others in society. He did so this week for the problems in Afghanistan.
The world championship leader had just returned from holiday when he heard about what happened in the country and reacted on Instagram to the current situation in Afghanistan. "I am devastated by what is happening in the world," Hamilton wrote.
The driver was hit by what is going on in Afghanistan. "I've been away from my phone and the world in general for a few days to regenerate, I'm really upset." He then called on his followers to take action in the coming period. "I know I'm late, but I'd like to share with you some opportunities to support those who are suffering and need help right now."

Belgian Grand Prix

This coming weekend Hamilton will be back on the track, with the Belgian Grand Prix scheduled to take place. The driver took an eight-point lead over Max Verstappen into the summer break, meaning the pair will battle it out once more in Belgium.
