Lewis Hamilton is having a mediocre start in Bahrain. During the second free practice, the Briton had to deal with a non-working DRS and problems with the brakes. Hamilton also complained of porpoising on the straight.
In the end, the seven-time world champion finished in ninth place, more than 1.2 seconds behind the fastest time of Max Verstappen. So it's not a perfect start for Hamilton, who at Mercedes, is used to competing at the top during the first weekend of the season.
Hamilton complained about porpoising on the radio, because the Mercedes still bounces around the track, while other teams seem to have solved the problem. In addition, the Briton also had to deal with a DRS problem, which caused him to lose time on the straight. The brakes also did not seem to be working optimally.

Mercedes has bigger problems than before

At Sky Sports, the Mercedes driver reacts to his first day in Bahrain. "We have had relatively minor problems in the past compared to this year. This year we are facing much bigger problems. Everything we do doesn't really change that. It seems like it will be a longer-term solution," Hamilton said.
