Lewis Hamilton has revealed Michael Schumacher influenced his decision to leave McLaren for Mercedes.
Hamilton is bidding to win his fifth world championship, two less than Schumacher. But Hamilton wishes to emulate the German, saying:
“I love the idea that Michael Schumacher went to Ferrari and took them from not being successful and being a part of that journey and winning,
“It looked amazing to watch and I wanted to do something like that.
“I already did everything I could at McLaren and saw Mercedes as a baby that was going to start growing.

“I wanted to be a part of it. People saw it as a big risk, but I’m a risk taker and that’s exciting.”
