Lewis Hamilton has admitted that he does not enjoy driving on the roads but says that when he does drive he is "really chilled." The Mercedes driver also says that the main reason he dislikes driving normally is the lack of competition. When asked if he'd ever been pulled over for speeding the Brit revealed that he had.
"Unfortunately, yes!" the five-time world champion said on David Letterman's Netflix chat show.
"Back in the day, probably in the 80s, it would have been cool, "Well no wonder, he's a racing driver, of course, he's going to speed on the road." But today you are viewed so much more and there are kids watching you. My Dad always used to say "don't speed" but he was always speeding!
"Honestly, I'm really chilled on the road. I don't particularly like driving so I don't drive a lot. But racing I like! I love the racing part but there is no competition when you are on the road. Also, there are a lot of crazy drivers out there on the road."
Hamilton will stick to racing on the track and leave the road driving to his chauffeur!
