Hamilton reacts to first day at Ferrari: 'My dream realised'

Lewis Hamilton is a driver for Ferrari. The Briton reported to the Maranello factory for the first time in the morning hours, where he was introduced to his new colleagues. After a few hours, Hamilton also made his first appearance via his Instagram account.

"There are some days you know you'll remember forever and today, my first as a Ferrari driver, is one of those days," was the first thing the seven-time world champion wrote as the caption to a photo taken in Maranello. "I have been lucky enough to achieve things in my career I never thought possible, but part of me has always held on to that dream of racing in red. I couldn't be happier to realise that dream today."

Hamilton desperately wants an eighth world title, just as all of Italy yearns for a renewed championship from Ferrari. No doubt the British veteran realises this too, and with a final remark he is already indicating to his fans as well as those of Ferrari that he cannot wait for what is to come. "Today we start a new era in the history of this iconic team and I can't wait to see what story we will write together."
