Mercedes have struggled with the new hypersoft compound so far in 2018, but Lewis Hamilton has said that his team have now figured out why the pink compound degraded so fast for them.
Mercedes have taken the least amount of hyper softs to Canada out of every team, simply because they can't get the best out of them. However, that shouldn't be the case anymore, says Hamilton.
"We now understand where and why our tyres didn't last long and we've made a few fundamental changes to the car," Hamilton told Autosport.
"Those have a clear influence.
"I think we'll understand a lot more this weekend."

The Brit then revealed that Mercedes will approach the hyper soft tyre differently from now on.
"The hyper softs have slightly other demands, which we're aware of now.
"We're going to tackle it next weekend."
Monaco was just a blip on the radar.
"Last race was a mistake.

"In hindsight, we should've done that differently."
