Hamilton calls for "all hands on deck" at Mercedes following Austrian GP

Lewis Hamilton had little to contribute during the Austrian Grand Prix. The British driver had to start the race from fourth position and also finished in this spot, which saw him see Max Verstappen slip further away in the world championship.
Hamilton feared before the race weekend that it was not going to be easy for him. Verstappen impressed at the Styrian GP and looked set to do the same at the same circuit a week later. The seven-time world champion didn't give himself much chance of beating Red Bull Racing.
That was also the case, as Hamilton came no further than a fourth final position. Verstappen won the race and drove the fastest lap, increasing his lead in the world championship to 32 points. Hamilton is trying to accept the disappointment and is already looking towards Silverstone. "We have got to bring some upgrades and find some performance otherwise this will most often be the result,” he told Sky Sports.

Hamilton to compete with Verstappen

The Mercedes driver regrets that the rivalry between Verstappen and himself was not reflected in the last few races. "We are miles away from them [Red Bull] so we have a lot of work to do. We need all hands on decks. We have got to bring some upgrades and find some performance otherwise this will most often be the result," he added.
